RE: NEW SEXUAL HARASSMENT LAWS
MANDATE APPLIES TO ALL EMPLOYERS – OPPORTUNITY TO COMMENT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 12
Governor Cuomo today made several announcements regarding his Women’s Agenda. Most important to Employers is the following: The model training and policy we have been waiting for is here – and we have an opportunity to weigh in on some of the requirements.
In the links below please find a series of documents released this afternoon. These include: Frequently Asked Questions, Standards the new law mandates, Model Training, a Model Complaint Form, and a Model Policy.
As we have been advising clients over the past few months, the requirement to train all staff annually begins October 9. Employers will also be required to add a harassment policy meeting specific criteria, to your Employee Policy Handbook. The Governor’s Office just released the attached as drafts and is looking for feedback.
