Abrams Fensterman is proud to announce that Executive Partner Carolyn Reinach Wolf has been named one of Long Island Business News’ 2025 Top 50 Women in Business. Selected by a committee of past honorees and the leadership team at LIBN, this prestigious award celebrates Long Island’s most influential women for their professional excellence, leadership, and commitment to community impact.

Carolyn Reinach Wolf, Director of the firm’s unique Mental Health Law Practice, is a trailblazer in her field and the only attorney in the nation to lead a family-focused mental health law practice. With a background that blends law, public health, and healthcare administration, Carolyn guides families, healthcare systems, educational institutions, and mental health professionals through the complex legal issues that arise at the intersection of mental health and the law. Her practice spans everything from psychiatric treatment proceedings and guardianship to capacity determinations and law enforcement interactions during mental health crises.

Ms. Wolf reflected on the award with appreciation for her group’s tireless efforts:

“For me, the law is not just about statutes and courtrooms—it’s about giving people a voice when they feel unheard, and helping families find stability and hope in the midst of mental health crises.”

Carolyn’s influence extends beyond the courtroom. She has held numerous leadership roles within the legal and healthcare communities, including serving as President of the New York State chapter of the Association for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and as a member of its Board of Directors since 1983. She is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association, contributing to both the Hospital and Health Law Committee and the Lawyers Assistance Program Committee. Additionally, she serves as Co-Chair of the Mental Health Law Subcommittee within the New York State Bar Association’s Health Law Section. A frequent media contributor and adjunct professor at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, Carolyn’s decades of advocacy have not only shaped mental health policy across New York but have helped countless families, professionals, and institutions navigate complex legal challenges with clarity and compassion.

This latest recognition adds to a long list of honors, including being named to Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, LIBN’s Health Care Heroes, and City & State’s Above & Beyond Women list.

The honorees will be recognized at an event on Thursday, Oct. 16, at Crest Hollow Country Club, 8325 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury. Read more about Carolyn and the other honorees here: Top 50 Women in Business – Long Island Business News
