Litigation Paralegal – Healthcare Reimbursement & Collections Department

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal (5+ years) to join our Healthcare Reimbursement & Collections Department on Long Island. This role supports attorneys handling high-volume litigation matters related to collections, reimbursement, and healthcare-related claims. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents related to collections and reimbursement matters
- Manage a high-volume caseload and track deadlines, court dates, and filings
- Handle e-filing in state and federal courts
- Prepare and review discovery demands, responses, and document productions
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding case status and documentation
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including assembling exhibits and trial materials
- Review billing records, account histories, and supporting documentation for litigation
- Coordinate service of process and follow up on affidavits of service
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
- Conduct basic legal research as needed
- Assist with settlement documentation and payment tracking
- Perform administrative and ad hoc tasks as required
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in collections, healthcare, or high-volume litigation
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and e-filing systems
- Experience managing a high-volume caseload with competing deadlines
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and legal management systems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $65,000 – $85,000, commensurate with experience
