Anthony Genovesi is a Partner at Abrams Fensterman, LLP, who has successfully defended individuals and major companies in complex litigation for over 20 years. He has won numerous jury trials for plaintiff and defense clients involving substantial exposure and awards. Mr. Genovesi has handled a myriad of commercial, insurance defense and mass tort claims and has successfully defended and prosecuted numerous claims involving catastrophic losses, potentially exposing his clients to multi-million dollar judgments.
Mr. Genovesi has argued appeals in the Appellate Divisions and in the New York State Court of Appeals. His landmark appellate victories include Cantalino v Danner 96 N.Y.2d 391 754 N.E.2d 164 (2001) [Where the standard for favorable determinations as predicates for malicious prosecution claims was redefined]; In re Brooklyn Resources Recovery, Inc. 309 A.D.2d 931 766 N.Y.S.2d 121 (2nd dept. 2003) [Where a general release was held to bar recovery of a shareholder loan in the context of a corporate dissolution proceeding.]; In re Ciraolo 37 A.D.3d 461 829 N.Y.S.2d 611 (2nd Dept. 2005) [Where the inadmissibility of an uncompleted deposition was affirmed.] Spataro v. Hirschhorn 40 A.D.3d 1070 837 N.Y.S.2d 258 (2nd Dept 2007) [Where vagueness precluded enforcement of physicians’ arbitration agreement.]
