Randy S. Faust
Randy S. Faust is a Partner and member of the Insurance Defense practice group at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara, Wolf & Carone, LLP working out of the Brooklyn MetroTech office.
Mr. Faust has over 25 years of extensive defense litigation and trial experience. An accomplished trial lawyer, Mr. Faust is a fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, a distinction offered to less than one percent of American Lawyers, for superior ethical representation, effectiveness and accomplishments in litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. He is also well recognized for his success in the courtroom, successfully trying over one hundred matters that resulted in a verdict, many of which involved alleged wrongful death and catastrophic injuries. He is regularly retained to “parachute” into complex cases immediately before trial to take over the defense and try the case to verdict across the United States. He has litigated matters in California, Hawaii, Florida, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, West Virginia, Washington, New Jersey and New York, to name a few. Additionally, Mr. Faust oversees a team of attorneys that specialize in fraud and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) matters for major property and casualty carriers and has significant experience in complex insurance and contract matters.
Over the past twenty years, Mr. Faust has represented many of the largest construction companies in the Northeast and has defended hundreds of cases involving construction-related excavation work which resulted in property damage. Significantly, he began his career in 1989 as an Assistant District Attorney at the New York County District Attorney’s Office under the direction of Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau. Initially assigned to the Special Prosecutions Bureau, he was responsible for the investigation and prosecution of the largest property damage insurance fraud case ever brought in the United States. The investigation resulted in the arrests and prosecution of over 100 professionals. Later, he was promoted to the prestigious Career Criminal Division, where he was responsible for the prosecution of some of the most violent criminals in the city.
Prior to law, Mr. Faust worked for Newsweek, Inc., where he held the position of Operations Manager for the magazine’s Latin American Edition. Responsible for the distribution of the magazine to forty-four countries, he oversaw the printing, logistics and marketing throughout the territory.
Mr. Faust earned his undergraduate degree with honors from New York University in 1985 and his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1989. He was admitted to practice law in New Jersey in 1989 and New York in 1990 in addition to many U.S. District Courts and Court of Appeal.
