Melody Schor is an Associate at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara, Wolf & Carone, LLP.
Ms. Schor has extensive experience in all areas of Real Estate Law. Ms. Schor’ s clients range from sellers and purchasers, health care providers, developers, investors, lenders and borrowers, and landlords and tenants. Ms. Schor represents her clients in a full range of real estate transactions, including sales and acquisitions, 1031 exchanges, development, financings and restructurings, and joint venture and leasing transactions. Additionally, Ms. Schor has successfully represented religious corporations through complex religious corporations law in the purchase and sale of real property, including application for approval to the New York State Attorney General, and has closed multi-million dollar institutional loans in 2018. She takes pride in ensuring she has a complete and thorough understanding of her client’s business and the goals they wish to achieve, in order to structure a deal that both achieves the client’s intended goals and utilizes the best protections afforded under the law.
Ms. Schor is regarded as a knowledgeable real estate attorney and has been a speaker on panels for Fordham University School of Law, and other organizations. Prior to joining Abrams Fensterman, Ms. Schor was a real estate associate at a prominent Manhattan law firm, where she represented lenders in closing commercial real estate loans for shopping centers, office buildings, self-storage facilities, and mixed use properties to be securitized or sold on the secondary market, and in connection with the financing of multifamily properties through Freddie Mac's Seller-Servicer program and Fannie Mae's DUS program.
Ms. Schor was also a judicial intern for the Hon. Deborah A. Batts, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Ms. Schor earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a recipient of Fordham Law School’s highest Legal Writing Award, and her B.A. from New York University. She is a former executive board member and current member of the Iranian American Bar Association and a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.
She is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
