Andrew T. Kasman
Andrew T. Kasman is a Partner at Abrams Fensterman, LLP and Co-Director of the Real Estate Law Department.
Mr. Kasman has extensive experience in all aspects of Real Estate Law in both commercial and residential real estate representing buyers and sellers including the preparation of contracts, leases, Construction Contracts, management contracts, 1031 Exchanges and Tenancy in Common Agreements. Mr. Kasman’s transactional real estate practice includes the areas of buying, selling, financing and leasing, as well as representing landlords, tenants and multi-family developers. Mr. Kasman also has extensive experience in all aspects of national commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financing. Mr. Kasman has represented tenants and landlords in retail, office, warehouse, shopping centers, day care centers, restaurants, banks, medical facilities and industrial leases. Mr. Kasman has also assisted sellers, purchasers, commercial and residential real estate mortgage lenders, borrowers, developers, and management companies in commercial and residential conveyances. Mr. Kasman has represented various lenders including Sterling National Bank, Hanover Community Bank, Connect One Bank, TD Bank, Alma Bank, various residential lenders and hard money lenders. Mr. Kasman is regarded as a knowledgeable real estate attorney and has been a lecturer regarding issues pertaining to both landlord and tenant positions in lease negotiations sponsored through title companies and lenders.
Prior to joining Abrams Fensterman, Mr. Kasman was the Senior Real Estate Counsel at American International Group, Associate General Counsel for NBTY, Inc./Vitamin World and General Counsel for CLK Management Corp., where he handled a broad range of matters involving real estate laws, corporate and transactional issues, day to day real estate management, employment issues, and Estate planning.
Mr. Kasman received his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan and his B.A. from Baruch College, in New York. He is a member of both the New York State Bar Association and Suffolk County Bar Association and is admitted to practice in State of New York, United States District Court Eastern District and United States District Court Southern District in 1985.
