Client Alert: NY Courts Open Electronic Filing for Motions and Notices of Appeal for Pending Cases On Monday, May 4th


Given the successful transition to virtual court proceedings, on April 30, 2020 New York State Chief Administrative Judge, Lawrence K. Marks issued a memorandum outlining next steps for the Unified Court system beginning Monday, May 4th. Click here for a copy of Judge Marks’ memo

Specifically, new motions, response papers to previously filed motions, other applications, and alternative dispute resolutions (ADR) can be submitted via e-file through the courts’ new electronic document delivery system. Appeals can be filed electronically through NYSCEF or the new electronic document delivery system. Skype for Business will be utilized for virtual court conferences for certain cases.
