This audio conference will focus on how litigation can be used to secure payment on delinquent nursing home resident accounts. The different types of litigation that will be covered include collection actions against residents and third parties, as well as guardianship and estate motions.
Information will be provided to participants about how facilities can identify the need for litigation, and best prepare their files for the eventuality of judicial intervention.
Specifically, the conference will address the use of litigation to pursue third parties for fraud and breach of contract, to compel uncooperative guardians to remit payment or pursue Medicaid, and to assert claims for payment against deceased residents' estates.
