A new law (Bill A07948) requires physicians performing office-based surgical procedures to become accredited facilities to ensure compliance with the law and to avoid liability and licensure implications. Proper corporate strategies can lead to significant economic advantages for medical offices. We have helped over 20 of our clients who are now accredited office-based surgical ("OBS") facilities to implement the new law. At the conclusion of this lecture, participants will:
- Understand the economic advantages of being an accredited OBS facility;
- Gain knowledge of reimbursement for OBS facilities;
- Learn about financing for OBS facilities;
- Understand corporate restructuring and disclosure issues implicated by the formation of OBS facilities;
- Understand the accreditation process and its requirements to comply with the new legislation;
- Obtain the perspective and input of organized medicine on OBS facilities;
- Discuss a case study from a physician who has been through the accreditation process successfully.
