- TOPIC/DESCRIPTION: New legislation (Bill A07948) requires physicians performing office-based surgical procedures to become accredited facilities to ensure compliance with the legislation and to avoid liability and licensure implications. Proper corporate strategies can lead to significant economic advantages for medical offices, as we have helped implement for over 20 of our clients who are now accredited office-based surgical ("OBS") facilities. With the OBS Law signed by Governor Spitzer, attendees will hear from a panel of experts and will:
- Discuss the economic advantages of being an accredited OBS facility;
- Discuss corporate restructuring and disclosure issues implicated by the formation of OBS facilities;
- Discuss the accreditation process and its requirements to comply with the new legislation;
