Nancy Levitin is a director of the firm's Health Care Collection and Reimbursement Recovery Practice. She counsels the firm's nursing home clients on all matters pertaining to third party reimbursement, private collections, guardianships, Medicaid, Medicare, HMOs, and estate recoveries. Ms. Levitin has lectured to trade associations and other attorneys on reimbursement issues, and her articles have been published by the New York Law Journal, New York State Bar Association, New York State Health Facilities Association, Inc., and others. She is a contributing author to Elder Law and Guardianship in New York, and the upcoming Guardianship Practice in New York State.
Employment Law
Sharon Stiller heads the firm's Employment Law Practice. She advises businesses and executives about employment law compliance, represents businesses in federal and state labor department audits, and litigates all types of employment-related matters, including state and federal discrimination, contract, confidentiality, non-compete, and similar claims. Sharon has also been named one of the top 25 women lawyers in upstate New York for five successive years.
Family Law
Steven J. Eisman is the firm's senior litigator. He oversees its Divorce and Family Law Practice as well as its Civil Litigation and Appeals Practice. Mr. Eisman is the Treasurer of the Nassau County Bar Association, as well as a member of the New York Family Law American Inn of Court. A well-recognized lecturer on legal matters and a regular participant in continuing legal education programs for bar associations and law schools, Mr. Eisman has been recognized as one of the "Ten Leaders" in Matrimonial and Family Law on Long Island since 2006.
Samuel J. Ferrara co-chairs the firm's Divorce and Family Law Practice. He represents clients in a wide range of matrimonial and family law issues, as well as transactional, corporate and commercial matters. He has particular expertise with contested custody cases, high net worth cases and commercial transactions. A top litigator and negotiator, Mr. Ferrara was recently named one of the Top 10 Matrimonial and Family Attorneys Under the Age of 45 by the Ten Leaders program.
Health Law
Richard T. Yarmel heads the firm's Rochester/Western New York Health Law Practice. He advises a broad range of health care providers in federal, State and accrediting body surveys, audits and investigations; Medicare and Medicaid voluntary self-disclosures; corporate compliance; Corporate Integrity Agreements; fraud and abuse issues; electronic health information exchanges; HIPAA; residency training program accreditation; patient-related issues; medical staff issues; professional licensure and misconduct; psychiatric commitments issues; discharge planning; guardianships; and many other medical/legal and regulatory issues.
Immigration Law
Barry H. Gleen is a member of the firm's Immigration & Nationality Law Practice. He has more than 25 years of experience in obtaining both temporary and permanent visas (green cards) for both individuals and employees. Mr. Gleen is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and served as Chair of its Corporate Practice Committee from 2002-2003 and 2008-2009. He has lectured widely in the U.S. and abroad on American immigration matters and is a frequent participant in the "Ask the Experts" programs sponsored by the AILA.
Malpractice Defense & Professional Discipline
Michael S. Kelton is the director of the firm's New York City Litigation Practice and its Malpractice and Professional Discipline Defense Practice. Mr. Kelton defends malpractice cases for various malpractice insurance carriers as well as for uninsured professional licensees. He also defends general liability cases for insurance carriers and municipal entities and handles disciplinary and professional misconduct matters before the New York State Department of Health's Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) and the New York State Education Department's Office of Professional Discipline (OPD) as well as physician-hospital disciplinary disputes.
