Lori A. La Salle is a senior associate at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Greenberg, Formato & Einiger, LLP.
Ms. La Salle focuses her practice on all aspects of health care law. With fifteen years of experience in health care law, Ms. La Salle advises health care providers in a broad range of matters such as fraud and abuse, corporate compliance, human-subject research, assisted reproductive technology, mental health, HIPAA, EMTALA and advance directives. She handles a variety of transactions, including physician arrangements, procurement agreements, medical services agreements and clinical trial agreements.
Prior to joining the firm, she was a Senior Associate General Counsel at one of the nation's largest healthcare systems, which is comprised of 15 hospitals, (including three world-class tertiary hospitals as well as a nationally recognized children's hospital and a psychiatric facility), a hospice, home care services, a major medical research institute, and skilled nursing facilities.
She has been responsible for coordinating and responding to audits and surveys by regulatory agencies such as NYSDOH, FDA, the NYS Attorney General and The Joint Commission. She has had extensive experience as the Director of Risk Management at a New York City hospital system and as an associate litigation attorney handling high-exposure medical malpractice cases at a Wall Street law firm.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. La Salle worked as a registered nurse in the operating room of The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and assisted in setting up a multi-specialty physician practice.
Ms. La Salle received her J.D., cum laude, from St. John's University and her BSN from Adelphi University. She is a member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System Institutional Review Board, and a member of the Health Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
