Susan Mauro

Susan Mauro is a partner at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara & Einiger, LLP.

Ms. Mauro is one of the firm’s senior litigators. She is an experienced litigator at both the trial and appellate levels. Ms. Mauro’s current area of practice includes health care litigation, complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters. She also has extensive experience handling complex insurance defense related litigation, as well as handling personal injury and matrimonial matters. Ms. Mauro is responsible for all aspects of litigation functions, including conducting trials, inquests and depositions; attending court conferences, oral arguments, hearings and meditations/arbitrations; preparing pleadings, discovery and motions; participating in settlement negotiations; and preparing and orally arguing appellate briefs.

Prior to joining Abrams Fensterman in September of 2006, Ms. Mauro gained experience working as in house counsel and then outside counsel for various insurance companies. Prior to receiving her J.D., Ms. Mauro worked as a Paralegal Specialist in the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of New York, in the Criminal Division’s Narcotics Unit.

Ms. Mauro earned her J.D. in 1996 from New York Law School and her B.S. cum laude in finance in 1991 from St. John’s University.

Ms. Mauro is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Nassau County Women’s Bar Association and the Columbian Lawyers Association of Brooklyn.
